Having the correct mains polarity means making sure that the live and neutral wires are correctly connected behind the socket that feeds your Hi-Fi or Home Cinema.

Equipment can still work if live and neutral are reversed... but in our opinion, it just doesn't sound as good as it could.

The socket tester (which is for use with UK 13A sockets only) enables you to easily check your mains polarity without having to call in an electrician or disconnect the socket from the wall. It also identifies any earthing problems too - problems that can degrade the performance of your Hi-Fi or Home Cinema.
