Achieving Record Collector's 'Gizmo of the Month' in June 2010, Paul Rigby quite rightly points out that this is one of those little devices that may be simple but can save an awful lot of time and stress.
We've all been there when attempting to unwrap CDs and DVDs. A job that should take seconds ends up taking a lot longer resulting in a great deal of frustration. The EZ-Opener solves the problem - simply run it along the opening edge of the case and, voila! it's open: "simple but highly effective".
I got this in 2010 for £4.50, but only used it for a did and cd before putting it away in the "forget it drawer". It wouldn't touch the DVDs wrapping at all, and left multiple score marks on the previously pristine cd case, as it stubbornly resisted opening too, before being carefully worked on with the usual Stanley blade. Think about it - it's just a spike in an angled groove that requires extra pressure to work. A good idea in theory which is a total waste of money and material in practice. I'm a little surprised the RA name is on this Christmas cracker item.
