Disposing of Old Equipment

If you are buying a new cable, accessory or component from us to upgrade your existing Kimber or Russ Andrews cable, remember to check our Cable Upgrade Scheme. It's likely that the item you are upgrading from has an upgrade value, whatever its age. This means that when you send it back to us, you will receive a refund back to your card or a credit against a future order: we just ask that you bought the item from us originally and it's in good, working condition.

Take Back Service

Even if the item you are replacing does not come under the terms of our Upgrade Scheme, if you no longer require it, we are happy to take back the old one for free and recycle it for you - just Contact Us to arrange this.

If you have a non-working cable or accessory, it's useful to know that many Kimber and Russ Andrews products can be repaired, and often this will be covered by the lifetime (minimum 25 year) warranty. Just Contact Us to check that your item can be repaired.

If any of your unwanted electrical equipment - Hi-Fi system or otherwise - is in working order, consider finding a new home for it. Re-use is far better than recycling, and local 'Freegle' or Marketplace groups are ways of moving unwanted items and making someone else happy!

If you do need to recycle an item of electrical equipment, visit  www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk to find out your local recycling point.

Why should you reuse or recycle?

Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK's fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled to save natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances can leak out and cause soil and water contamination - harming wildlife and also human health.

Anything with a plug, battery or a cable can be re-used or recycled.  The crossed out wheeled bin symbol on electrical equipment is a reminder that you shouldn't simply bin your item, but recycle it.

What we do with your returned items

If you are returning a working item for upgrade, we sell these in the pre-owned section of the website, so someone else can benefit - see these at www.russandrews.com/preowned

If you are returning something to us to be recycled, we will ensure that it is correctly recycled via an approved contractor who deals with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) to minimise damage to the environment and prevent it going to landfill.
