Monocle-XL forms a bridge in the Kimber range between their traditional woven cables – from 4PR to 12TC - and the more technically-advanced Select range.



What you get with Monocle XL™ is a hybrid of the two designs making for a high-performance cable at a more widely affordable price.


Monocle-XL™ utilises a 24 wire braid, combining twelve TC and twelve VS conductors (for more about the 'TC' conductors, click here). Each wire is manufactured from VariStrand™ copper, ensuring that no particular frequency range dominates. This combination brings the best of both TC and VS attributes, creating a lower noise floor and, as with the Select range of cables, these conductors are then woven around Kimber’s own proprietary X38R stabilizing core.



This expanded braid geometry offers better mechanical and electrical damping, as well as extending dynamic range on both ends of the spectrum, giving you a huge soundstage and precise imaging. The result of all this technology is a cable which is capable of allowing you to hear more of the full potential from your valued system.


Monocle-XL™ cable comes with WBT™ terminations – banana or spade. A key feature is WBT’s nextgen® technology which utilises low mass principles for improved performance and sound quality.




The WBT-0610 bananas are a locking, slanted design which puts less strain on heavier gauge speaker cables and are available in two models: the Cu version which uses gold-plated pure copper and the Ag model which features platinum plating over a fine silver base. (The second pin underneath the main 4mm pin of the banana is a safety feature to prevent the plug being inserted into a power socket. It can easily be removed if necessary to allow the fitting of the plug into your binding post).

The same materials are also used on the Cu and Ag versions of the 0661 and 0681 spades. 0661 will fit binding posts up to 6mm and 0681 up to 8mm. We recommend the use of the bananas as a more reliable connection.
